Area students graduate from Susquehanna University

SELINSGROVE—Three area students received diplomas as Susquehanna University closed its 153rd academic year with commencement exercises on May 15.

Kyle A. Robertson of Schwenksville graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing and music. He is the son of Gregg and Mig Robertson and a graduate of Souderton Area High School.

Robertson’s activities at Susquehanna included serving as student representative to the SU Board of Trustees, as a representative of the student conduct board, a representative of the Sigmund Weis School of Business Dean Advisory Council, and a representative of the risk reduction council. He was the president of Omicron Delta Kappa and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Sigma Alpha Pi. He was the principle clarinetist in the symphonic band and orchestra. He was named in Who’s Who Among University Students, the dean’s list, and a University Scholar. He received the Deborah Wissinger Business Prize and the Susquehanna Scholarship Music Performance Grant. Following graduation, Robertson plans to begin working with JP Morgan Chase in July as a business operations analyst.

Tina M. Statkevicz of Lansdale graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and a minor in health care studies. She is the daughter of Ray and Dorsey Statkevicz and a graduate of Wissahickon High School.

Following graduation, Statkevicz plans to pursue a D.M.D. at Temple University.

Bryn A. Whitmire of Lederach graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics with minors in secondary education and economics. She is the daughter of Ken and Judi Whitmire and a graduate of Souderton High School.

Whitmire’s activities at Susquehanna included serving as finance vice president for Alpha Delta Pi sorority and playing on the varsity softball team. She was inducted into the honor societies for freshman, education, mathematics, and social sciences. She was member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and a member of the Mathematics Club. Whitmire made the dean’s list every semester. Following graduation, Whitmire plans to attend graduate school at Georgetown University to study mathematics and statistics.
