Approximately
34,000 Commended Students throughout the United States are being recognized for
their exceptional academic promise. These students placed among the top five
percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the competition by taking
the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test
(PSAT/NMSQT).
The
National Merit Scholarship Award recipients, including the 11 semi-finalists
announced earlier this month, will be honored at a breakfast to be held at North Penn High School.
