Area high school seniors receive MSDFCU Hoffman Memorial Awards
Merck Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union presented Hoffman Memorial Awards to five high school seniors at its annual meeting on March 30, held at Pine Crest Country Club.
For 39 years, the Hoffman Memorial Award recognizes high school seniors who are active in their community, and represent the “people helping people” philosophy of credit unions. This year, recipients were awarded $5,000 each and were recognized at the credit union’s annual meeting by W. Andrew McPherson, MSDFCU Chairman, and David B. Whitehead, MSDFCU CEO. Combined, the students contributed over 4,200 hours toward community service efforts.
Those awarded include Meredith Lavin of Central Bucks East High School, Doylestown; David He of Central Bucks East High School, Doylestown; Alexander Murdich of North Penn High School, Lansdale; Jennifer Gerhart of Mount Saint Joseph Academy, Flourtown; Laura Paviglianiti of Mount Saint Joseph Academy, Flourtown.The award was created in honor of Raymond O. Hoffman, founder and first president of Merck Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union. Hoffman contributed many hours of volunteer service to the credit union’s formation and success.MSDFCU has $405 million in assets and serves over 26,000 members.
