Wissahickon graduate in honors program at Susquehanna University

Whitney Walsh of Ambler has been chosen to be a member of Susquehanna University’s highly selective Honors Program. She is a freshman psychology major.
Recognized as a model for other honors programs throughout the country, the Honors Program at Susquehanna offers a challenging program of study to students interested in a more independent and interdisciplinary approach than usually offered to an undergraduate. Discussion groups, lectures, off-campus visits, and residential programs complement Honors Program courses. The University Scholars’ House serves as the center for many honors activities including fireside chats, a film series, and Friday night coffeehouses.
Members are chosen for their natural curiosity, a genuine interest in learning, high energy, leadership, and academic standing in high school. Most Honors Program students ranked in the top five percent of their high school graduating class and scored between a 1200 and 1500 on SATs.
Walsh, a 2010 graduate of Wissahickon High School, is the daughter of Rick and Christi Walsh.
