Local students named to dean's lists, honor rolls

Emily Spears of Harleysville has been named to the dean's list for the fall term at Centre College, an honor reserved for students who maintain at least a 3.60 grade point average.
Spears is the daughter of Robert and Tonya Spears of Harleysville and is a graduate of Emma Willard School.


Erin Marie Poulson of Lansdale was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Albright College in Reading. She is a sophomore child and family studies major.


The following local students were named to Lycoming College's dean's list for the fall semester:
Amanda Kinnon, a junior of Quakertown
Jakob Niederhaus, a senior of Souderton
Christina Giuffrida, a sophmore of Norristown
Thomas Sontag, a freshman of East Norriton
Kiley Moesta, a junior of Lansdale
The dean's list is issued at the close of each semester in recognition of superior scholarship. Students make the dean's list if they complete at least four letter-graded courses and earn a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the semester.


Gardner-Webb University is pleased to announce that Jessica Lynn Casper of Perkasie made the Honor Roll List during fall semester. The Honor Roll List recognizes outstanding college students who achieve a GPA between 3.2 and 3.7 through outstanding academic contribution during a semester.

Gabrielle M. McCarron - a junior from Harleysville, was among Virginia Military Institute cadets who were recently named to the Deans' List for the first semester of academic year 2010-11. She is majoring in English and International Studies. Cadet McCarron's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Stephen R. McCarron. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a cadet must have a term grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and no grade below C.

The following area residents have been named to the 2010 Fall Champlain College Honors list. They are:
Kenneth Grob, of Doylestown, is on the Dean's list. Grob is majoring in Computer Networking and Information Security at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt.
Matthew Conklin, of Quakertown, is on the Dean's list. Conklin is majoring in Web Site Development & Design at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt.
Being named to the Dean's List requires a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or more as a full-time student. President's List honors are for a grade-point average of 4.0.
