These NPHS students are tops in math

Five NPHS seniors traveled to
New York City to present their paper submitted in the Moody’s Mega Math
Challenge 2013 Applied Mathematics Competition for high school
students.
Of the 1,054 papers submitted
to the Moody’s Mega Math Challenge 2013, only six schools were chosen to
present their papers in NYC Monday, April 29.
The NPHS team presented
their report titled “Advice to the EPA for National Recycling Regulations: A
Study of National Plastic Use Projected for the Next Decade and a Comparative
Analysis of Three Methods of Recycling for Three Cities.”
Team members included: Priya
Kikani, Scott Landes, Patrick Nicodemus, Julianna Supplee and Francis Walsh who
placed third in the competition.
They will be sharing the Cum
Laude Team Prize of $10,000. In addition to the monetary award, each of
these Moody's Mega Math Challenge winners has been invited to submit
applications for summer internships with Moody's Corporation.
