Local man recognized by Gettysburg College
Kevin Schmitt, a Gettysburg College senior from Harleysville, has been awarded a 2010 Linnaean Award. Winners are chosen by peers based on the recipients' efforts to improve the campus community, excellence in academic endeavors, and overall achievements during their college careers.
Schmitt is majoring in economics and international affairs. On campus, he serves as concerts chair and vice president of finance for the Campus Activities Board, program assistant for the First Year Experience, a senator on Student Senate, and a campus tour guide. He is also a member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon and Pi Lambda Sigma Honors Societies, Senior Class Gift Campaign, the Student Life Committee, and Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
