Kaplan University announces local Winter 2011 online graduates

Bill Richardson, former two term governor of New Mexico, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, U.S. Energy Secretary and multiple Nobel Peace Prize nominee, served as the commencement speaker.

Local students recognized for Campus Impact at Lebanon Valley College

Celebration of Student Success Honors 161 Freshman or Transfer Students
ANNVILLE -- Lebanon Valley College has recognized 161 of its first-semester freshman and transfer students for making an impact on the campus as a new student. The Celebration of Student Success reception, held Feb. 17 in the Neidig-Garber Science Center atrium, honored the students' achievement.
The honorees were nominated by faculty and administrators for standing out in the classroom, in their work with classmates, as student leaders, in on-campus employment, or in extracurricular activities such as athletics, performance, and volunteerism.

The Dean's List includes students earning at least a 3.75 GPA, while completing at least 12 hours of course work for a letter grade. Only grades from the designated semester are included in the Dean's List selection process.Students earning at least a 3.6 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in Goshen College Division of Adult and External Studies (DAES) also are included in the list -- a significant achievement since most DAES students are working adults taking highly personalized night classes.

In May, NMSC will notify finalists if they have been selected to receive a Merit Scholarship award.

Area woman named to dean's list at the University of New Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT -- Elizabeth Olzinski of Schwenksville was named to the Dean's List at the University of New Haven for the fall 2010 semester. Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the Dean's List.

Jennifer Leedom Named to Mary Baldwin College Honors List

STAUNTON, VA -- Jennifer Leedom of Souderton, was named to the Fall 2010 Honors List at Mary Baldwin College.
Students named to the Honors List earned grade point averages of 3.75 to 4.00. To be eligible, a student must be a degree candidate and must have earned at least 12 semester hours for the grading period.

Emily Malick receives dean's list recognition at Paul Smith's College

PAUL SMITHS, N.Y. -- Emily Malick of Lansdale, has been named to the dean's list at Paul Smith's College for the fall 2010 semester. Malick, who is majoring in forestry, is enrolled in the college's School of Forestry and Natural Resources and earned a semester average of 3.3 or higher to receive this distinction.

Heather A. Wilson of Telford Earns Honor from Allegheny College

MEADVILLE -- Heather A. Wilson, daughter of Michael Wilson and Sandra Oehmke of Telford, has been named an Alden Scholar for the 2009-10 academic year at Allegheny College. A graduate of Souderton Area High School, Wilson is a junior at Allegheny.
Alden Scholar awards are presented to students who maintained a grade point average of 3.2 or higher during the preceding academic year. The awards are named in honor of the Reverend Timothy Alden, Jr., who founded the College in 1815.

Telford woman named to dean's list at West Chester University

Harleysville resident named to dean's list at Florida Institute of Technology

MELBOURNE, FL -- Laura Zagorski, a resident of Harleysville, was among the students from Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne who were named to the Dean's List for the fall semester, which ended in December. Zagorski is a Spc Sci:Astronomy&Astrophysics major.
To be included on the Dean's List, a student must complete 12 or more graded credits in a semester with a semester grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.4.

Lansdale student named to Stonehill College's fall dean's list

EASTON, MA -- Stonehill College recently named Lansdale resident Tara L. Cantwell, a member of the class of 2013, to its Dean's List for the Fall 2010 semester.
To qualify for the Dean's List at Stonehill, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

CD grads part of Goshen College Study-Service Term unit to Peru

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Two graduates of Christopher Dock Mennonite High School are participating in the Goshen (Ind.) College Study-Service Term (SST) in Peru during this spring, along with 12 other students. Goshen established an SST unit there in 2005.
Tim Landes, son of Steven and Sandy Landes of Hilltown, is majoring in art. He is a 2008 graduate of Christopher Dock Mennonite High School and attends Doylestown Mennonite Church.
Rebecca Weaver, daughter of Craig and Judith Weaver of Harleysville, is majoring in psychology. She is a 2008 graduate of Christopher Dock Mennonite High School and attends Franconia Mennonite Church.
The students left for Peru in January and will return to the United States on April.

Local woman named to dean's list at Harding University
