SELINSGROVE — Kaitlyn Kinsey, of Hatfield, has been selected as a member of the 2012–13 Susquehanna University Dance Team.
The dance team performs at all home men’s and women’s basketball games and at several campus and community events throughout the academic year. The auditioned group is composed of fourteen dancers.
Kinsey, a senior communications major, is a 2009 graduate of North Penn High School and is the daughter of Karen and Jeffrey Kinsey.

North Penn High School students selected to the Montco Honors String Orchestra
LANSDALE – The North Penn School District announced that North Penn High School students Anisa Eshraghi, Poojita Sharan, Jiyoon Song, Layla Annous, Christopher You and Matt Hinkle have been selected to represent the district in the 2012 Montgomery County Honors String Orchestra.
This year’s festival is being hosted by Diana Helmetag, Orchestra Director at Upper Merion High School. The guest conductor will be Yoon Jae Lee. Mr. Lee is the founder and artistic director of the Ensemble 212 in NYC, Music Director of the Old York Road Symphony, and a teacher at the City College of New York, CUNY. The concert will be held at Upper Merion High School on Friday, November 9, beginning at 7 p.m.

commended scholars in the 2012-2013 National Merit Scholarship Competition

Approximately
34,000 Commended Students throughout the United States are being recognized for
their exceptional academic promise. These students placed among the top five
percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the competition by taking
the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test
(PSAT/NMSQT).
The
National Merit Scholarship Award recipients, including the 11 semi-finalists
announced earlier this month, will be honored at a breakfast to be held at North Penn High School.
