Area NMTCC student takes first place in poster design competition


North Montco Technical Career Center (NMTCC) Graphic Arts students had the opportunity to participate in the Third Annual “Dating Violence Awareness/Prevention” High School student poster contest sponsored by the Dating Violence Prevention Program of Laurel House. This contest was open to all high school students in Montgomery County. The theme for this year’s competition was “Dating Violence and the National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline.” Judging was based on originality, creativity, development and reflection of the theme.
NMTCC Graphic Arts student, Theresa Miller (12th grade, Methacton) received the first place award for her design. She was recently recognized for her poster design at an unveiling ceremony held at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute. Theresa is in her third year of Graphic Arts at NMTCC and plans to become a graphic artist after high school.

North Montco Technical Career Center Floral Design students win 50 ribbons at the PA Farm Show

North Montco Technical Career Center (NMTCC) Floral Design and Landscaping students competed against students from 12 other schools across the state in various Horticulture competitions. From cake toppers and table arrangements, to wreaths and terrariums, NMTCC students showed their creativity and earned the following awards at the Pennsylvania Farm Show:17 first place10 second place13 third place5 fourth place2 fifth place

In addition, the Farm Show awards 5 Best in Show awards each year.

North Montco TCC students win gold, silver medals

North Montco Technical Career Center Allied Health and Health Occupation students competed recently at the state level Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) competition in Lancaster. Through their hard work and efforts, the students earned 8 gold medals and 1 silver medal.

Gold medal winners are eligible to compete against students from across the country this summer in Orlando, Florida at the National HOSA competition. The mission of HOSA
is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill andleadership development of all health science technology education students, therefore, helping students to meet the needs of the health-care community.
