Timothy Sutcliffe of Lansdale, has been named to the dean's list at Frostburg State University, Frostburg, Md., for outstanding academic achievement for the spring 2010 semester.
To be eligible for the dean's list, a student must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and earn a cumulative semester grade point average of at least 3.4 on a 4.0 scale.

Springfield College, Springfield, Ma. has named Lauren Peters of Lansdale, to the dean's list for academic excellence for the spring 2010 term. Peters is a -year student whose major field of study is applied exercise science.

The Krell Institute announced that Carmeline Dsilva of North Wales, has been awarded a Computational Science Graduate Fellowship from the Department of Energy. Dsilva, a 2006 graduate of North Penn High School, will pursue a doctoral degree in the field of chemical engineering at Princeton University beginning in the fall.

The Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF) is a highly competitive program funded by the Office of Science and Office of Defense Programs. Initiated by the Office of Science and first awarded in 1991, this fellowship has supported more than 250 students at over 50 universities. Fellowships are granted annually and fund the education of doctoral students whose course of study focuses on the use of high-performance computers to solve complex problems in science and engineering.

Gabrielle M. McCarron - a rising senior from Harleysville, is majoring in English and International Studies is among 486 cadets who were recenlty named to the dean's list for the second semester of academic year 2009-10 at Virginia Military Institute.

More than 130 Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania undergraduates and nine graduate students were recently inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, an honor society which recognizes and promotes academic excellence in all fields of higher education.
Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is by invitation and requires nominations and approval by a chapter. Members are elected from the top 5 percent of last-term juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors, along with outstanding graduate students.

Established in 1965, the Souderton Area Community Scholarship has awarded over $500,000 in the past 45 years. The scholarships are awarded Souderton Area High school seniors on a financial need and academic basis, through an application process and interviews. This year $23,500 will be distributed to the senior recipients’ schools of choice. Area students were named to Susquehanna University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2010 semester. The Dean’s List recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for the semester. To qualify, students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours.
